Memories in a bottle

My husband and I have a shared passion for exploring new and exciting places. For some reason, I find the new sights refreshing and much needed when things at work become too stressful. At times when we can't get away, I find that seeing mementos of past adventures help to bring those feelings back. This craft is an easy way to make a memory capsule of your favorite places while not breaking the bank or taking up a lot of storage space in your house. The bottle sizes keep this craft nature-friendly and low-impact to the environment. By the way, I don't recommend putting anything live or stolen in your showcase.

MATERIALS

MATERIALS

  • 1-1/2" Tall X 3/4 Inches Diameter Mini Clear Glass Jars Bottles with Cork Stoppers.
    I bought mine here

  • Wooden Essential Oil Box
    I bought mine here

  • Small nature momentos from each trip. I make one bottle per adventure.

No complicated step-by-step instructions needed! This post comes stress-free, which is great because I am all about easy crafts. All you need to do is:

  • HAVE ADVENTURES
  • BE A COLLECTOR
  • GET CREATIVE WITH YOUR SAMPLES
  • INSERT. CORK. LABEL. STORE.

Tip: Try to get a variety of types of samples when you are exploring. I try to get things that are unique from that area. We recently took a train ride through the country in an area that had a lot of pine trees. The dried brown needles were flexible enough to twist together into a 'twirl' shape. I think this one is my favorite ones so far.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!

I am designing a way to showcase the bottles and would love to hear your ideas! Comment below and let me know how you display your travel treasures.
